2 Weeks or 4? Choosing the Right Hire Length

Every package includes two weeks of hire, and for most local moves that’s the sweet spot: totes arrive a few days before moving day, you pack over a weekend, move, unpack over the following week, and we collect. Done with days to spare.

But some moves genuinely need longer. Settlement gaps — where you move out before you can move in — are the big one. Renovating before you unpack is another. And downsizing moves, where every tote involves a decision about what stays, routinely take a month of gentle sorting.

The maths is simple: extra weeks cost $30–$68 depending on your package size, far cheaper than re-hiring. If your settlement or lease dates have any wobble in them, booking a longer hire upfront beats scrambling to extend later — though extending is always possible before your collection date.

A local tip: if your move straddles school holidays or the Christmas peak, book early and pad your dates. Moving services of every kind get tight on the Coast in December–January.
